Biography
Walter McGinn was an American actor. Born on 6 July 1936 in Providence, Rhode Island, he graduated with a B.A. from Boston University College of Fine Arts. He made his Off-Broadway debut in 1963 in a New York Shakespeare Festival production of The Winter's Tale and his Broadway debut the following year in The Subject Was Roses.
McGinn appeared in several films in the mid-1970s, including The Parallax View (1974) as Jack Younger, Three Days of the Condor (1975) as Sam Barber, Farewell, My Lovely (1975) as Tommy Ray and Bobby Deerfield (1977) as The Brother. On television he played Louis Howe in the 1977 film Eleanor and Franklin: The White House Years, for which he received a posthumous Primetime Emmy Award nomination. He also had roles in series such as Kojak.
He was married to producer Robyn Goodman from 1976 until his death. McGinn died on 31 March 1977 in Los Angeles, California, aged 40, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
