Biography
Walter Reimann (2 June 1887 – 8 November 1936) was a German painter and art director. Born in Berlin, he was associated with the Expressionist group linked to the magazine Der Sturm.
Reimann worked in film from 1919, initially as a set painter. With Hermann Warm and Walter Röhrig he created the distorted, painted sets and costumes for The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari (1920). He continued as a production designer on German films including The Plague of Florence (1919) and Algol (1920), and briefly worked in Hollywood in the late 1920s. He died in Bad Godesberg.
