Biography
Walter Shenson (1919–2000) was an American film producer. Born in San Francisco, he attended Stanford University and began his career as a publicist for Paramount Pictures and Columbia Pictures before moving to Britain in the mid-1950s to work as an independent producer.
He produced The Mouse That Roared (1959), starring Peter Sellers, and was approached by United Artists to produce the Beatles' first feature film. Shenson produced A Hard Day's Night (1964) and Help! (1965), both directed by Richard Lester. He secured a deal under which rights to the films reverted to him after 15 years. Later credits include Reuben, Reuben (1983) and Ruby Jean and Joe (1996).
