Biography
Warren Casey (20 April 1935 – 8 November 1988) was an American theatre composer, lyricist, writer and actor. With Jim Jacobs, he wrote the book, music and lyrics for the stage musical Grease, which premiered in Chicago in 1971 before transferring to Broadway.
The 1978 film adaptation of Grease used the score from the musical. Casey received a Tony Award nomination for Best Book of a Musical. He had previously worked as an actor in Chicago theatre companies and held various jobs including retail work before focusing on writing.
