Biography
Wayne Rogers was an American actor best known for playing Captain 'Trapper' John McIntyre in the CBS series MASH (1972–1975). He also starred as Dr Charley Michaels in the comedy series House Calls* (1979–1982).
Born in Birmingham, Alabama, Rogers graduated from Princeton University with a degree in history in 1954 and served as a naval officer before beginning his acting career. Early television work included guest roles in series such as Gunsmoke, Combat! and The Fugitive, and he appeared in films including Cool Hand Luke (1967).
After leaving MASH following a contract dispute, Rogers maintained a career in television and later became a successful investor and financial commentator, appearing regularly on the Fox News programme Cashin' In*.
