Biography
Wenche Foss was a Norwegian actress and singer. She made her stage debut in 1935 in the operetta Taterblod and worked at several Oslo theatres, including periods at the National Theatre from 1952 to 1967 and from 1978. Her screen credits include the mother in Ingmar Bergman's Scenes from a Marriage (1973) and the voice of Enkefru Stengelføhn-Glad in The Pinchcliffe Grand Prix (1975). She also appeared as Mistress Karen in I Am Dina (2002).
Born Eva Wenche Steenfeldt-Foss in Oslo on 5 December 1917, she died in Oslo on 28 March 2011. Foss received the Norwegian Film Critics' Prize for her role in Herren og hans tjenere (1959).
