Biography
Wendell Rawls Jr. is an American writer and producer, also known for his career as an investigative journalist. Born on 18 August 1941 in Goodlettsville, Tennessee, he graduated from Vanderbilt University and began working as a reporter in 1967.
He shared the 1977 Pulitzer Prize for Investigative Reporting for a series on conditions at Farview State Hospital. Rawls wrote the story and teleplay for the Law & Order episode 'Extended Family' (1993). He produced several television movies in the early 1990s, including A Woman Scorned: The Betty Broderick Story (1992) and In the Line of Duty: Ambush in Waco (1993). He is the author of the 1980 book Cold Storage.
