Biography
Wendy Craig is an English actress. She trained at the Central School of Speech and Drama in London and began her career in theatre before appearing in films including Room at the Top (1959) and The Servant (1963), in which she played Susan Stewart.
Craig is best known for her television roles as harassed housewives in sitcoms such as Not in Front of the Children (1967–1970), ...And Mother Makes Three (1971–1976), ...And Mother Makes Five (1974–1976) and Butterflies (1978–1983). She later played Matron in the series The Royal (2003–2011) and Aunt Juley in The Forsyte Saga (2002). She was nominated for a BAFTA Award for Most Promising Newcomer for The Servant and won the BAFTA Award for Best Actress for Not in Front of the Children.
