Biography
Wenonah Wilms is a screenwriter and producer. She wrote one episode of the fourth season of the television series True Detective (2024) and has contributed to Dark Winds (2022) as a writer and story editor. Her other credits include the feature Darby and the Dead (2022), for which she received a story credit, and several shorts and series such as Fem 101 (2019) and Waabooz (2016).
Born and raised in Minneapolis, Wilms is an enrolled member of the Red Cliff Band of Lake Superior Chippewa. She began screenwriting in her thirties while a stay-at-home mother. She won the Nicholl Fellowship in Screenwriting for her screenplay Horsehead Girls and has received other awards, including a Writers Guild of America nomination for True Detective.
