Biography
William Asher was an American television and film director, producer and screenwriter. He directed episodes of The Twilight Zone (1959) and was one of the most prolific early television directors, working on more than two dozen series.
Asher began directing I Love Lucy in 1952 and directed 110 of its 179 episodes. He later directed and produced Bewitched (1964), which starred his wife Elizabeth Montgomery. He also directed episodes of Our Miss Brooks, The Patty Duke Show, Gidget and Alice, and a series of beach party films including Beach Party (1963).
Asher won an Emmy Award for directing Bewitched in 1966 and was nominated for a Directors Guild of America award for I Love Lucy.
