Biography
William F. Claxton (also credited as Bill Claxton or William Claxton) was an American film and television director, producer and editor. He began his career as a film editor in the 1940s for Edward Small Productions before moving into directing feature films in the late 1940s and 1950s.
Claxton directed four episodes of the series The Twilight Zone (1959) between 1960 and 1962. He is also known for directing episodes of The Rifleman (1958), Bonanza, Little House on the Prairie (1974), Dallas (1978), Fame (1982) and Highway to Heaven (1984), as well as the feature Night of the Lepus (1972). He maintained a long association as producer and director on the syndicated series This is the Life from 1951 to 1980.
