Biography
William Gibson is an American-Canadian writer of speculative fiction. Born in Conway, South Carolina, in 1948, he moved to Canada in the late 1960s and earned a BA from the University of British Columbia in 1977.
He is best known for his novels, beginning with Neuromancer (1984), and for screen work including the screenplay for Johnny Mnemonic (1995), based on his short story. He wrote two episodes of the television series The X-Files (1993): "Kill Switch" (1998) and "First Person Shooter" (2000), both co-written with Tom Maddox.
