Biography
William Stout is an American artist, illustrator and production designer born on 18 September 1949 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He trained at the Chouinard Art Institute (California Institute of the Arts) and began his professional career in 1968 with illustration work, later contributing to comics, magazine covers and film posters.
He has worked on over thirty feature films in roles ranging from storyboard artist to production designer. Stout served as production designer on The Return of the Living Dead (1985). He wrote the story for The Warrior and the Sorceress (1984) and contributed as a writer to the animated series Godzilla: The Series (1998–2000). Stout is also known for his paleontological art, with paintings exhibited in numerous shows.
