Biography
Winifred Hervey is an American television writer and producer. She is sometimes credited as Winifred Hervey-Stallworth. A graduate of Loyola Marymount University, she began her career writing for Garry Marshall-produced sitcoms including Laverne & Shirley and Mork & Mindy.
In the 1980s she wrote episodes of Benson and The Cosby Show, and contributed as a writer and co-producer on The Golden Girls. She shared an Emmy Award for Outstanding Comedy Series in 1987 for her work on the latter. In the 1990s she wrote for and executive produced The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, created and executive produced In the House, and created The Steve Harvey Show, which she executive produced and for which she served as head writer.
