Biography
Winsome Brown is a Canadian actor, writer and director. Born in Toronto to an Irish mother and an American father, she graduated from Harvard College, where her senior thesis won the Hoopes Prize. She is an Obie Award winner for ensemble performance.
She is known for playing Anna Leonberger in the 2020 film News of the World, Theresa Sackler in the 2021 series Dopesick, and a Dark Kryptonian in Supergirl (2018–2020). Other screen credits include Elementary (2019), The Blacklist (2022), The Crowded Room (2023) and Velma (2024).
Her theatre work includes productions at La MaMa ETC and the Performing Garage in New York, as well as solo plays she has written and performed. She has also worked as a narrator for audiobooks.
