Biography
Wolfgang Büttner was a German actor. He was born on 1 June 1912 in Rostock and died on 18 November 1990 in Stockdorf. He trained at the Schauspielschule des Deutschen Theaters in Berlin under Max Reinhardt and began his career in the theatre before making his film debut in 1950.
Büttner appeared in more than one hundred films and numerous television productions, often in supporting roles. He is known for playing Maj. Gen. Dr. Hans Speidel in The Longest Day (1962), as well as roles in Scene of the Crime (1970) and Derrick (1974). He also worked extensively as a voice actor and dubber.
He was married to the actress Eleonore Noelle.
