Biography
Yasmin Joseph is a British-Caribbean playwright and screenwriter. She is best known for her debut play J'Ouvert, which premiered at Theatre503 in 2019 and transferred to the Harold Pinter Theatre in the West End in 2021. The play won the James Tait Black Prize for Drama in 2020.
Joseph trained through attachments including the Channel 4 Playwrights scheme at the Royal Court Theatre and as writer-in-residence at Sister Pictures. She has written for several theatre companies and expanded into television as a co-writer on the period drama series A Thousand Blows (2025).
