Biography
Yasuko Sawaguchi is a Japanese actress. She was born on 11 June 1965 in Sakai, Osaka.
In 1984 she won the first Toho Cinderella Audition and made her film debut in Karate Cop III: Song of the Sea. That year she also played Naoko Okumura in The Return of Godzilla, for which she received the Newcomer of the Year award at the Japan Academy Film Prize. She later appeared as Erika Shiragami in Godzilla vs. Biollante (1989).
Sawaguchi has worked extensively in television, including a long-running role as Mariko Sakaki in the series Kasōken no Onna (1999–present). She voiced Chihiro's mother in Spirited Away (2001).
