Biography
Yasuyuki Inoue, also known as Taiko Inoue, was a Japanese special effects art director and production designer. He worked primarily at Toho on tokusatsu films from the 1950s to the 1980s.
Inoue joined the special effects department for the original Godzilla (1954), initially assisting with miniature sets. He later became head of the art department and contributed to numerous entries in the Godzilla series, including Godzilla Raids Again (1955), King Kong vs. Godzilla (1962), Mothra vs. Godzilla (1964), Godzilla vs. Hedorah (1971) as production designer, Godzilla vs. Gigan (1972) and Terror of Mechagodzilla (1975). He also worked on films such as Rodan (1956), The War of the Gargantuas (1966) and The Return of Godzilla (1984).
Inoue designed many miniature sets, vehicles and some monsters, notably Hedorah. He was born in Fukuoka on 26 November 1922 and died on 19 February 2012.
