Biography
Yehezkel Lazarov is an Israeli actor, director and multidisciplinary artist. Born on 8 February 1974 in Tel Aviv, he trained as a ballet dancer at the High School of Arts and performed with the Batsheva Dance Company for four years after military service in an entertainment ensemble. He later studied theatre at the Actors’ Centre in London.
Lazarov has appeared in leading roles in more than 40 films and television productions, including the voice of Carmi Cna’an in the animated documentary Waltz with Bashir (2008). His theatre work includes Tevye in the Broadway national tour of Fiddler on the Roof (2018–2022) and Mack the Knife in The Threepenny Opera at the Gesher Theatre, for which he received the Israeli Theatre Award for best actor. He has also directed and choreographed productions and, since 2022, has served as head of the School of Performing Arts at Kibbutzim Seminary College.
