Biography

Yoshinori Ota is a Japanese film editor, also credited as Yoshinori Ohta. He has worked extensively with director Takeshi Kitano, serving as editor or co-editor on many of his films from the 1990s onwards.

His credits include Fireworks (1997), Kikujiro (1999), Brother (2000), Dolls (2002), Zatoichi (2003), Outrage (2010) and its sequels, and Kubi (2023). He received the Japan Academy Prize for Outstanding Achievement in Film Editing for Zatoichi and was nominated for the same award for Fireworks.
