Biography
Yōsuke Kubozuka is a Japanese actor and musician. Born on 7 May 1979 in Yokosuka, Kanagawa, he graduated from Kanagawa Prefectural Yokosuka High School. He began his career as a model before debuting as an actor in the 1995 television series Kindaichi Case Files. He gained early recognition for roles in GTO (1998) and Ikebukuro West Gate Park (2000).
In 2001, Kubozuka received the Japan Academy Prize for Outstanding Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role and Newcomer of the Year for his performance in Go. His film credits include Ping Pong (2002), Himizu (2012), Helter Skelter (2012), Silence (2016) as Kichijiro, and Tokyo Tribe (2014). On television, he has appeared as Yuto Mori in Giri/Haji (2019) and Naoki Hayama in Tokyo Vice (2022). He has also performed in stage productions directed by Yukio Ninagawa.
