Biography
Yumi Asō, also credited as Yumi Aso or Yumi Asou (Japanese: 麻生 祐未), is a Japanese actress. Born Yumi Okumura on 15 August 1963 in Izumisano, Osaka Prefecture, she grew up in Nagasaki Prefecture and graduated from Aoyama Gakuin University. She began her career in 1983 and has appeared in numerous films and television dramas.
She is known for roles including Keiko in Perfect Days (2023), Misa in Survive Style 5+ (2004), Akemi Sakurai in Sky of Love (2007), Setsuko Hibino in Love for Beginners (2012) and Ei Tachibana in the series Jin (2009). Asō is the niece of singer Chiyo Okumura. She was married to actor Toshiya Nagasawa from 2004 to 2008 and has one child.
