Biography
Yumi Tamai, also credited as Yoomi Tamai or Yuumi Tamai, is a Japanese actress and singer born in Tokyo on 6 August 1977. She trained at Tokyo University of the Arts and completed an animation directing course sponsored by Hayao Miyazaki.
She is known for voicing Rin in the Studio Ghibli film Spirited Away (2001). Other credits include the voice of Ishuu Benikawa in the anime series Xam'd: Lost Memories (2008–2009), a role in the film Fuse Teppō Musume no Torimonochō (2012), and appearances in the drama series Tomica Hero: Rescue Fire (2009). She has also worked as a vocalist and performer with groups including Psalm (SARM) and Shibusashirazu.
