Biography
Yvonne Shima (1935–2023) was a Canadian-born British actress and singer of Japanese descent. Born in British Columbia, she later settled in Toronto before moving to the United Kingdom in 1958.
She began her career on stage in London, appearing in The Teahouse of the August Moon. Her film roles included Lulik in The Savage Innocents (1960), Minnie Ho in The World of Suzie Wong (1960), Sister Lily in Dr. No (1962), Anna in the television series The Avengers (1963), and a concubine in Genghis Khan (1965). She was married to Barry Ransom.
Shima retired from acting in the late 1960s following a car accident.
