Biography
Zak Mulligan is an American cinematographer. He was born in Toledo, Ohio, and studied photography at Arizona State University before beginning his career in New York City.
Mulligan's feature credits include Obselidia (2010), for which he received the Excellence in Cinematography award at the Sundance Film Festival, and We the Animals (2018), which premiered at Sundance and earned him an Independent Spirit Award nomination for Best Cinematography. He has collaborated repeatedly with director Jeremiah Zagar. His television work includes episodes of the HBO miniseries The Outsider (2020) and the Netflix film Hustle (2022).
In 2015 Variety named him one of its '10 Cinematographers to Watch'. He was invited to join the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in 2019 and is a member of the International Cinematographers Guild.
