Biography
Zane Buzby is an American director, actress and philanthropist. She grew up in East Meadow, New York, and graduated with honours from Hofstra University with degrees in performance and dramatic literature. She began her career as an assistant film editor on projects including The Concert for Bangladesh and The Holy Mountain.
Buzby's first major acting credit was in Oh, God! (1977). She appeared in Up in Smoke (1978), Americathon (1979), National Lampoon's Class Reunion (1982), Cracking Up (1983) and This Is Spinal Tap (1984) as the Rolling Stone Reporter. She co-starred in and directed the feature Last Resort (1986). As a television director, mentored by James Burrows and Edgar J. Scherick, she amassed over 200 episodic credits including episodes of The Golden Girls, Married... with Children, Newhart, Blossom and the pilot of Sister, Sister.
Buzby founded The Survivor Mitzvah Project, providing aid to Holocaust survivors in Eastern Europe, and has received awards for her humanitarian work.
