Biography
Zbigniew Skowroński was a Polish actor. He appeared in numerous Polish films and television series from the 1940s to the 1980s, usually in supporting or episodic roles.
Born in Skarżysko-Kamienna, he worked as a teacher of Polish before the Second World War. He began acting during the war in Vilnius theatres and later trained in directing at the State Higher School of Theatre in Łódź, graduating in 1949. He performed with several theatres in Łódź and Warsaw, including the Teatr Nowy.
On screen, Skowroński made his debut in Zakazane piosenki (1946). He is known for his roles as Slomka in Ashes and Diamonds (1958), Tolima in Knights of the Teutonic Order (1960) and the dog owner in Man – Woman Wanted (1973). He retired from regular theatre work in 1976 but continued occasional appearances until 1980.
