Biography

Zeppo Marx was an American actor and comedian. Born Herbert Manfred Marx on 25 February 1901 in New York City, he was the youngest of the five Marx Brothers. He appeared in the first five Marx Brothers feature films, usually as the straight man or romantic lead.

His film credits include The Cocoanuts (1929) as Jamison, Animal Crackers (1930) as Horatio Jamison, Monkey Business (1931) as Zeppo, Horse Feathers (1932) as Frank Wagstaff and Duck Soup (1933) as Bob Roland. He left the act after Duck Soup and later worked as a theatrical agent and engineer. Marx died on 30 November 1979.
