Biography

Ziva Postec is an Israeli film editor. Born in Israel in 1940, she moved to Paris in 1961 and worked as an assistant editor or editor on several features, including Le Deuxième Souffle (1966), The War Is Over (1966) and films by directors such as Alain Resnais and Jean-Pierre Melville.

Between 1979 and 1985 Postec edited Claude Lanzmann’s nine-and-a-half-hour documentary Shoah (1985), shaping more than 350 hours of footage into the final film. She returned to Israel in 1986. Later credits include directing short works and editing additional Israeli productions.
