Biography
A.J. Benza is an American gossip columnist, television host and actor. Born Alfred Joseph Benza on 2 June 1962 in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn, New York City, he studied journalism at the C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University.
He began his career writing for Newsday before becoming a gossip columnist for the New York Daily News, where he contributed to the “Hot Copy” and “Downtown” columns. Benza later hosted E! Entertainment Television’s Mysteries & Scandals and co-hosted High Stakes Poker on GSN.
His acting credits include the role of L.C. in the 2006 film Rocky Balboa, as well as appearances in Ransom (1996), Pauly Shore Is Dead (2003) and voice work on Family Guy.
