Biography

Aaron Stockard is an American screenwriter and producer. He co-wrote the screenplay for Gone Baby Gone (2007) with Ben Affleck, based on the novel by Dennis Lehane, and also served as associate producer on the film. He later collaborated again with Affleck on the screenplay for The Town (2010), adapted from Chuck Hogan's novel Prince of Thieves.

Stockard began his career in the film industry as a production assistant on Good Will Hunting (1997) and as assistant to Matt Damon on The Talented Mr. Ripley (1999). For his work on The Town, he received several nominations, including for the Writers Guild of America Award for Best Adapted Screenplay.
