Biography

Aaron Wickenden is a film editor who has worked primarily on documentaries. He holds a BFA in photography from the University of Arizona and interned with photographers Richard Avedon and Annie Leibovitz in 1999. He began his editing career in Chicago, collaborating with director Steve James at Kartemquin Films.

Wickenden co-edited The Interrupters (2011) with James. Subsequent credits include Finding Vivian Maier (2014), Best of Enemies (2015), Won't You Be My Neighbor? (2018), Hail Satan? (2019), Becoming (2020), Roadrunner: A Film About Anthony Bourdain (2021) and Piece by Piece (2024). Several of his films have premiered at Sundance; he has received Emmy nominations for editing and ACE Eddie nominations.
