Biography
Abel Jafri is a French actor of Tunisian origin. Born on 5 December 1965 in Tunis, he moved to France as an infant and began his career in theatre, training in Paris with workshops led by Jack Waltzer and Jack Garfein.
He has appeared in supporting roles in films including Nelly and Monsieur Arnaud (1995), The Three Kings (2001), The Passion of the Christ (2004) as a 2nd Temple Officer, Bled Number One (2006), L'Autre moitié (2007) as Hamid, Timbuktu (2014) as Abdelkrim, Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets (2017) as a bus driver, The Extraordinary Journey of the Fakir (2018) as Captain Fik, and Our Ties (2022) as Adil. He has also acted in television series such as Lupin (2021). Jafri received the best actor award at the Amiens International Film Festival for L'Autre moitié and teaches at the Cité du cinéma school in Saint-Denis.
