Biography

Abel Korzeniowski is a Polish composer of film and theatre scores. Born Adam Korzeniowski on 18 July 1972 in Kraków, he studied cello and composition at the Academy of Music in Kraków, graduating in 1996 and 2000 respectively, and trained under Krzysztof Penderecki.

He began his career scoring Polish films and theatre productions, receiving a Golden Lions award for best score for Duże Zwierzę (The Big Animal, 2000). His international work includes scores for A Single Man (2009), W.E. (2011), Romeo & Juliet (2013), the series Penny Dreadful (2014–2016), Nocturnal Animals (2016), The Nun (2018), The Courier (2020) and Till (2022). He has received Golden Globe nominations for A Single Man and W.E., Emmy nominations for Penny Dreadful, and a BAFTA nomination for Nocturnal Animals.
