Biography
Abigail Cruttenden is an English actress. Born on 23 March 1968 in London, she began her career as a child actress and has worked in television and film since the early 1980s.
She is known for her role as Jane in the ITV series Sharpe (1996–1997), opposite Sean Bean, whom she married in 1997; they divorced in 2000. She has had regular roles in the sitcoms Benidorm (2007–2009) as Kate Weedon and Not Going Out (2014–2023) as Anna. Film credits include The Theory of Everything (2014) as Isobel Hawking, Denial (2016) and Munich: The Edge of War (2021). She has also appeared in Agatha Christie's Poirot (1989), Midsomer Murders (2017) and Charlotte Gray (2001).
Cruttenden comes from a family with connections to the performing arts; her brother is comedian Hal Cruttenden. In 2003 she married Jonathan R. Fraser.
