Biography
Alan North (1920–2000) was an American actor. Born in the Bronx, New York, he served in the United States Navy during the Second World War. After the war he worked as a stage manager in New York and made his Broadway debut in the musical Plain and Fancy (1955).
His film roles included Brown in Serpico (1973), Lieutenant Frank Moran in Highlander (1986), Governor John Albion Andrew in Glory (1989), Mayor Don Bottman in Lean on Me (1989), Braddock in See No Evil, Hear No Evil (1989) and Earl in The Long Kiss Goodnight (1996). On television he played Captain Ed Hocken in the series Police Squad! (1982) and appeared in a recurring role as Captain Sean Delaney on the soap opera Another World (1984–1988). His final stage performance was in Lake Hollywood (1999).
