Biography

Alan Rosenberg is an American actor born on 4 October 1950 in Passaic, New Jersey. He graduated with a BA from Case Western Reserve University and has been active in film, television and theatre since the late 1970s.

He is known for his portrayal of Eli Levinson in the legal dramas Civil Wars (1991–1993) and L.A. Law, as well as Ira Woodbine in the sitcom Cybill and Professor Youens in Shameless. Other credits include appearances in House (2004), Suits (2011), Elementary (2012) and the voice of Jack Hammer in Robots (2005). He played Aba Weinberg in the Netflix series Mo (2022).

From 2005 to 2009 Rosenberg served as president of the Screen Actors Guild.
