Biography
Alan Stocks (7 November 1967 – 2025) was an English actor. He trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, graduating in 1989, and worked extensively in theatre, including productions at the Royal Shakespeare Company and Liverpool Everyman and Playhouse, as well as tours of Calendar Girls and Greatest Days.
On screen, Stocks appeared in numerous British television series and films. His credits include The Day Today (1994) as Bob Mariner and the Policeman with Tortoise, Wire in the Blood (2002–2004) as Don Merrick, Birthday Girl (2001) as the Passport Official, Split Second (1992), Vera (2022) as John Batley, and guest roles in Casualty, Doctors and Holby City. He died in 2025 after a short illness.
