Biography
Alberta Watson was a Canadian film and television actress. Born Faith Susan Alberta Watson in Toronto, Ontario, she began performing at the age of 15 with a local theatre group and made her screen debut in the late 1970s.
She appeared in films including Spanking the Monkey (1994), Hackers (1995), The Sweet Hereafter (1997) as Risa Walker, and Hedwig and the Angry Inch (2001). On television she was known for recurring roles as Madeline on La Femme Nikita (1997–2001) and Erin Driscoll on 24 (2004–05), as well as Senator Madeline Pierce on Nikita (2010). Watson received a Gemini Award and was nominated for two Genie Awards; she shared a National Board of Review award for best ensemble cast for The Sweet Hereafter.
