Biography

Alex Disenhof is an American cinematographer. He studied film at Emerson College and moved to Los Angeles after graduation. He joined the American Society of Cinematographers in 2021.

His credits include director of photography on the series Task (2025), for which he received the 2026 ASC Award for Best Cinematography in a One Hour Series; The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power (2022); Watchmen (2019); The Mosquito Coast (2021); City on a Hill (2019); and Code 8 (2019). Feature work includes Captive State (2019), Alice (2022) and The We and the I (2012).

Disenhof received an ASC Award nomination for the pilot of The Exorcist (2016) and Camerimage nominations for the City on a Hill pilot (2020) and the music video “Mono No Aware” (2009). He was named in Variety’s Below the Line Impact Report in 2014 and 2016.
