Biography
Alex Kingston is an English actress. Born on 11 March 1963 in Epsom, she trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and began working in the early 1980s. She gained attention in Britain for her title role in the 1996 ITV miniseries The Fortunes and Misfortunes of Moll Flanders, which earned a BAFTA nomination for Best Actress.
Kingston became known in the United States for playing Dr Elizabeth Corday in the NBC series ER from 1997 to 2004. Later credits include the recurring role of River Song in Doctor Who (2008–2015), Dinah Lance in Arrow (2013–2016) and Sarah Bishop in A Discovery of Witches (2018–2022).
