Biography
Alex Wurman is an American composer. He was born on 5 October 1966 in Chicago, Illinois. He studied at the Chicago Academy for the Arts, the University of Miami and the American Conservatory of Music in Chicago before moving to Los Angeles in his early twenties, where he began scoring student films at the American Film Institute.
Wurman is known for his film scores to Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy (2004), Confessions of a Dangerous Mind (2002), March of the Penguins (2005), Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby (2006), The Switch (2010) and Between Two Ferns: The Movie (2019). His television work includes the series Patriot (2015–2018) and the miniseries DTF St. Louis (2026). He won a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Music Composition for a Miniseries, Movie or a Special for his score to the 2010 television film Temple Grandin.
