Biography
Algee Smith is an American actor and singer. Born in Saginaw, Michigan, he moved with his family to Atlanta at the age of eight and began his career there before relocating to Los Angeles.
After early small television roles and appearances in films including Let It Shine (2012) and Earth to Echo (2014), Smith rose to prominence with his portrayal of Ralph Tresvant in the 2017 BET miniseries The New Edition Story. That same year he played Larry Reed in Kathryn Bigelow's Detroit. He is also known for roles as Khalil Harris in The Hate U Give (2018), Chris McKay in the HBO series Euphoria (2019–2022), and Jake Winters in Judas and the Black Messiah (2021). He has additionally appeared in Mother/Android (2021) and voiced characters in Solar Opposites.
