Biography
Ali Liebegott is an American writer, actor and comedian. Born on 8 August 1971, she holds an MFA in creative writing from Sarah Lawrence College and has published the novels and poetry collections The Beautifully Worthless (2005), The IHOP Papers (2007), Cha-Ching! (2013) and The Summer of Dead Birds (2019). She has received Lambda Literary Awards and a Ferro-Grumley Award for her fiction.
Liebegott joined the writing staff of the Amazon series Transparent in 2014, serving as executive story editor and writer across its run. She has since written episodes of Love Life (2020), The Sex Lives of College Girls (2021), Little America (2022) and The Beast in Me (2025). She is a three-time Writers Guild of America Award nominee and a Peabody Award winner for her work on Transparent.
