Biography
Alice Hirson was an American actress. She was born Alice Corinne Thorsell in New York City on 10 March 1929 and graduated from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in 1948. She began her career on stage, appearing on Broadway and in off-Broadway productions.
Hirson had recurring roles in daytime soap operas including The Edge of Night, Another World and One Life to Live. She played Mavis Anderson in the CBS series Dallas (1982–1988) and Lois Morgan in the ABC sitcom Ellen (1994–1998). Her film roles include the First Lady in Being There (1979), Mrs. Thornbush in Private Benjamin (1980), Mrs. Lowe in Revenge of the Nerds (1984), Muriel Bedford in Blind Date (1987) and Mrs. Morgan in The Glass House (2001). She also appeared in guest roles on series such as Full House, ER and Cold Case.
Hirson was married to actor Stephen Elliott from 1980 until his death in 2005. She died on 14 February 2025 in Woodland Hills, California.
