Biography
Aml Ameen is a British actor and filmmaker. Born on 30 July 1985 in London to Jamaican and Vincentian parents, he studied acting at the Barbara Speake Stage School and appeared in West End productions as a child.
Ameen began his screen career with guest roles in series including The Bill, where he later played PC Lewis Hardy as a series regular from 2006. He gained prominence with his performance as Trevor (Trife) in the 2006 film Kidulthood. His international credits include Alby in The Maze Runner (2014), Capheus in the first season of Sense8 (2015), and roles in The Butler (2013) and I May Destroy You (2020). He made his directorial debut with the 2021 romantic comedy Boxing Day.
More recent work includes the lead role of Junior Massey in The Porter (2022), for which he received an Independent Spirit Award nomination, Martin Luther King Jr. in Rustin (2023), and Bailey in the series Legends (2026).
