Biography
Amy Neil is a British writer and director. She directed two episodes of the Netflix political thriller series Hostage (2025).
Her television directing credits include episodes of Hanna (2019), The Control Room (2022), Trust Me (2017) and Call the Midwife (2015). She began her career while studying film and Japanese at Nihon University in Tokyo. Her short films include The Child (2011) and Icicle Melt (2010).
Neil is a BAFTA nominee and won a Scottish BAFTA for her debut short film Can’t Stop Breathing.
