Biography
Ana Lily Amirpour is a British-American film director and screenwriter of Iranian descent. She was born in Margate, Kent, England, and later moved to the United States with her family.
She studied at San Francisco State University and the UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television. Amirpour is known for her feature films A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night (2014), The Bad Batch (2017) and Mona Lisa and the Blood Moon (2022). She has also directed episodes of television series including Legion (2018), Castle Rock (2018), The Twilight Zone (2019–2020), Briarpatch (2020) and Guillermo del Toro's Cabinet of Curiosities (2022).
