Biography
Anders Thomas Jensen is a Danish screenwriter and film director. Born on 6 April 1972 in Frederiksværk, he began his career with short films, winning the Academy Award for Best Live Action Short Film for Election Night (1998) and receiving nominations for Ernst & Lyset (1996) and Wolfgang (1997).
He has written screenplays for numerous Danish features, including Mifune's Last Song (1999), Brothers (2004), After the Wedding (2006), In a Better World (2010) and The Promised Land (2023). He contributed characters to Red Road (2006) and co-wrote the screenplay for The Dark Tower (2017).
As a director, Jensen is known for Flickering Lights (2000), The Green Butchers (2003), Adam's Apples (2005), Men & Chicken (2015) and Riders of Justice (2020).
